At Shoe Size Conversion Charts, we’re just a normal, hard-working couple from Montreal, Canada. My name is Peter, a 35 years old software engineer by profession, and my wife Evelyne is a 31 year old secretary at the University of Montreal. We’re both passionate about footwear, and when you love shoes as much as we do, you do A LOT of shoe shopping online. Apparently..!
The idea for Shoe Size Conversion Charts came about as a result of the many frustrations we experienced while online shopping in the past. Too many times we ordered shoes that were a less than perfect fit, or worse, did not fit us at all and were completely unwearable. It was a disappointment every time, not to mention the annoyance of having to deal with returns and re-orders. I still have several pairs of shoes in my closet that I never wear because they don’t fit me well, but was just too busy or plain lazy to deal with returning them.
Accurate sizing information was hard to come by online, even with hundreds(if not thousands) of generic charts out there. In fact, it was the very existence of so many charts on the web, with most containing conflicting and contradictory information, that was so confusing for us. We kept trying different charts and sources, each time with mixed results, until one day we decided enough was enough and created our own chart based on a standard Brannock device – the device used to define the international shoe sizing standard.
However, we found out soon enough that we couldn’t stop there. Each brand seems to have its own sizing practices, and quite often these did not match the international standard. So each time we wanted to buy a pair of shoes, we started looking up the brand-specific chart, if it was available. At times this was a quick process, but often we’d spend hours on forums and websites to find some useful information. It dawned on us that there were probably many others in the same situation who were wasting a lot of time online reinventing the wheel, so to speak, and we decided to compile as many brands and size charts as we could find and put them all under one roof. And this is how Shoe Size Conversion Charts was born. It has been a relatively long journey and it took us quite some time and effort to get this project to where it is now (it’s of course still a work in progress as we keep adding more brands to our list), but we hope it was well worth it and it will help tens of thousands of people around the world to save time, money, and hopefully make their overall shopping experiences more enjoyable. We hope that You, dear reader, are one of those people.
Cheers and thank you for visiting our little corner on the web!
Peter, Evelyne, and baby Felicia.
