This page provides a quick and easy explanation of how to measure shoe size by using common household items. To make sure you get the right fit for your shoes, measure your foot by following the simple guidelines below.
How To Measure Shoe Size
Make sure you measure shoe size in the evening; your feet will often swell during the day due to heat and activity. For the best fit, measure your feet at the end of the day.
Wear the pair of socks that you’re most likely to wear your new shoes with.
Place a piece of paper on the floor with one end against a wall. Stand on the piece of paper with your heel against the wall. Mark the piece of paper where your longest toe ends with a pencil. The longest toe is not necessarily the big toe for some people.
Repeat the above step for your other foot. This is necessary since for most people there is a small difference between the length of the two feet.
Use a ruler to measure, in either inches or centimeters, the distance from the end of the piece of paper to the marks you created. Take the larger value of the two and compare the measurement to our sizing chart.

Choosing the Right Shoe Size
Ok, so now you know how to measure shoe size. But what should you do if your measurement happens to be in-between two sizes? We would recommend you chose the larger rather than the smaller one, since shoes that are too small for your feet will usually feel more uncomfortable than ones with a little wiggle room.
If you’re buying shoes from an international source or brand, make sure to convert the size from your country or region to the one of the manufacturer by using our generic shoe size chart. Better yet, if you already know the brand of shoes you’re looking to purchase, look up your brand-specific sizing chart, since it is likely to be more accurate than the generic charts due to the sometimes significant variations in sizes among different brands of shoes.
Finally, don’t despair if you followed all the instructions, ordered your beautiful new shoes online, and they still don’t quite fit for one reason or another. Many online retailers provide free shipping and returns. Just make sure you check the return policy of the online store of your choice, and buy only from those who are willing to exchange your product for free.
